What is it?

TrackChanges is a plugin for Adobe FrameMaker that introduces easy-to-use revision control to FrameMaker documents. Users can monitor, accept, and reject revisions, and even use the "What-If" feature to check structure integrity.

What's New in 1.9?

    Before installing version 1.9, be sure to uninstall all previous versions! Failure to uninstall previous versions may result in scary error dialogs and missing toolbar buttons.

  • Completely rewritten backend, solving many long-term bugs and performance issues.
  • Multi-user editing support.
  • (Beta 6) TrackChanges floating palette.

    • Changes in version 1.8:

  • Change tracking does not turn on automatically when a document opens, even if revisions have been made.
  • Multiple Undo (more information) and TrackChanges cooperate with book files
  • TrackChanges can be used independently of Multiple Undo
  • TrackChanges no longer disables FrameMaker's undo functionality if used independently of Multiple Undo
  • Structured FrameMaker support in both TrackChanges and Multiple Undo
  • "What If" feature allows the user to validate structure before accepting changes
  • When used with FrameMaker 7.1, change tracking information is kept through an XML roundtrip

General Features

  • Changes to text and graphics are monitored on Master, Reference and Body Pages and may be accepted / rejected individually or globally within these pages.
  • Revisions are clearly identifiable by style and color. These tracking styles and colors may be modified to match individual preferences.
  • With this tool, users are able to more effectively manage the editing process.

Availability

TrackChanges is available exclusively for FrameMaker on the Windows platform. A Unix version of the plugin can be made available if requested.
